The Sky is Falling!!!

Welcome back everyone. So far it looks like we are gaining a couple of watchers, and that is awesome. I'm glad to see everyone is enjoying my frozen adventures. So lets move right to it and take a look at what is for lunch today.

Why its old Mama Michelina. Did anyone else catch the "Let Mama Feed You!" slogan up at the top of the box? Yes Mama Feed meee! I am so hungry and poor! Will I be hungry two hours later? Probably. But hey, its still "food" right? Right guys?

Today's lunch is, "Chicken Littles". What a sweet innocent name for them. It makes me wonder if these are just small baby chicks that were covered in seasoning and then deep fried and frozen for my pleasure. Lets take another look at the presentation on the box. Someone took a lot of time to stack those little, as they are called on the box, "Chicken Fritters" and french fries together so expertly. What confuses me the most is that fork. Who eats "Chicken Fritters" and french fries with a freaking fork. That's ridiculous. Just slop on some ketchup and dive right in, fingers first.

I will say that Michelina is a master of packaging. Trying to rip into this thing was hell. Michelina has a fancy little tab on the side that says "Pull Here!" So you do, and all you get is a little sliver of paper. You try again, a little more paper. Next thing you know you are literally clawing at these things to get to the little treasures.

After much ripped paper I finally reached them. Now the directions had top options for these fellas, 1) Bake, 2) Microwave. And being the trooper I am (and not having enough time on my break to preheat the oven), I decided to just microwave them. The directions also point out to put some paper towels below them, but I am poor and out of paper towels (Come on guys, I am eating 95 cent meals for lunch). So we'll just have to see how they do without the paper towels...

At least its not swimming in marinara sauce. Note the moisture that surrounds them on the plate. I imagine that this was suppose to be taken care of by the paper towels....Now believe it or not, these actually were not as bad as you would think. The "Chicken Littles" were actually very tastey. I wish I could have made a trade for more chicken less french fries. Anyone that has EVER had to deal with frozen french fries...you know what I'm talking about. Floppy constancy but that weird "I might not be a potato" texture on the inside. I did try them without ketchup, and the chickens were ok...the french fries *shiver* they just have a freaky taste to me. So smothering them in ketchup seems to help. But I'm just a ketchup fiend. I eat steak with ketchup on it. I know. I'm awful.

After I sucked down my lunch, my boyfriend decided he was going to try and bake these little guys and see if they were any better. Well he wouldn't try any of mine, which means I couldn't try any of his. But he did artfully arrange them like the box has it and took a lovely picture for us all.

"THEY MUST HAVE USED TINY PLATES!" (please take your time now to scroll up and look at the box art once more...I'll give you a minute.....la la la....you look? Yea. Smallest. Plate. Ever.) That is what I heard screaming from the kitchen while he set this up. I also love how he drenched it in salt. When asked how they were he replied "Good." he's so simple :)

Anywho that is all for today! We are running low on food (Pay Day! So close yet so far!), so I might be eating microwaved food again tonight. If that is the case, you bet your butt you'll be seeing another entry.

Happy Microwaving!
