Let me just catch yall up.

I really got to get back on the ball with the whole "daily update" thing. I have just been very distracted the past few days. I have been eating and keeping track of everything but when it came time to post...I would just not do it. So! Lets get back on track and let me catch you up with the last three days!

This was a recommendation, so I picked it up the other day at the store. It seemed pretty good. I like the fact that it has "MORE VEGGIES!" and No Preservatives. That's a good sign. I like seeing people making REAL FOOD again.

This smelled like heaven in the microwave. I was so so so excited. I love squash and I love veggies and I love ravioli. So clearly this was going to be expectational.

They were so close on looking the same. But man that is a lot of sauce.

This was a-mazing. Again, something vegetarian and amazing. I was very pleased with this. Good job Lean Cuisine! So! Next up on the list we have:

Sorry, totally took the picture after I cooked this. But look! Its Nev! Woo? Mmm BB Chicken Quesdillia. Yum! Ok no really, its BBQ, another suggestion. It sounded pretty delicious. Three things I also love to death, Chicken, BBQ and Quesdillia. So needless to say, I was excited about this little guy too. And look! It's Lean Cuisine! I'm sensing a theme here...

Yummy? Ok so I had to cut this sucker to "replicate" the feeling on the box. The Boyfriend was standing over me as I was taking the pictures and he complained that I was doing the same thing they do on the box, but opposite "Make everything look gross." Come on man!

So for The Boyfriend's sake, I went ahead and took a "replication picture" to make it look better.

I don't think that helped.

Anyway, this was pretty good. I wish I would have had some sour cream though (I can always find ways to make healthy stuff unhealthy and more delicious). But it was very good. I was pleased with this. The Boyfriend wanted to steal it, so thats a good sign.

Alright! Last, but certainly not least, we have a new comer!

Swanson! Now it claims to be "The Original TV Dinner". So of course, with that printed on the box all retro like, I had to pick this up.

Not to mention this looks like my FAVORITE THING to get at Luby's (Except get rid of those green beans and replace them with Fried Okra. Also, WHERE IS MY DINNER ROLL?!). I was really excited. I had to time this one good, cause seafood dishes are not allowed to be had when The Boyfriend is around, or awake. So I made this sucker early this afternoon while he still slumbered.

Excuse me! Waiter! I think I got the kid's meal....

For real...? That's it? Ok I'm fine with my food looking crazy after it's made. But don't fool me on your portions. Ok lets look at the box pictures again, I'll give you a moment, go ahead and scroll back up.....no go ahead, I'll be right here when you get back. Did you look? OK good. So let's talk about this.

The portion of fish featured on the box is totally not the same size that I received. I was not pleased. I almost called up Swanson to demand my rightful portion. But I had to take it like a man with my tiny fish and just shut up and eat.

If anyone ever plans on getting this dish, do not microwave it. Microwaving it gave the fried bits a chewing taste and the fish was kind of rubbery. If I would have baked it, I know for a fact this would have been top notch. Everything else was great, but microwaving kind of ruins the whole "crispy baked" part of the fish.

Alright that is all for today! I will be sure to try and update more often then I have been! Until tomorrow!

Happy Microwaving!

Meat-losse, meat-loaf, double beat-loaf...I HATE meatloaf.

Today is my last day off for this 3-day weekend so I figured today I was celebrate in style. I'm not going anywhere today...OK I might go to the store later. Anyway, today I am sitting around in my pajamas playing Xbox all day. The Boyfriend had a bad dream last night and ended up waking up at 3am with a crick in his neck and stayed up all night. He woke me up at 10:30, we chit chatted for a bit, then he promptly passed out. So I was on my own for lunch today.

I figured today I would get something have something special. I still have some nasty looking food that has been in the freezer since our last big store trip. It keeps staring me down, but I'm saving those for later this week. So! Today we're going to have a request that I picked up at the store that I was very excited about. Why was I excited do you ask?

Cause it's another Amy's! You all know how I feel about Amy's. I figured I would venture away from their delicious tex-mex and venture out into the their classic meals. So today we have Veggie "Meatloaf", Mashed Taters and corn/peas. So excited.

I will say that when I pulled it out of the box, I was nervous. The "gravy" covered the entire "meatloaf" so it was just this brown blob staring at me, "Hey there. I could be delicious, but then again I could be disgusting. Who knows. Cook me Bitch!" so I did.

It smelled good, which is always a good sign. My apartment didn't not smell like fish or burnt banana. So, again, I was hopeful. Amy has not let me down before and I don't think she would start today.

That Gravy is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Now when I took it out of the microwave, the nervousness hit me again. The "Oh-this-does-not-look-good" worries. So I decided to shut up and dive in.

Like I said, Amy does not disappoint and this is no exception. The "meatloaf" was surprising at first because it is clearly not meat but veggies morphed together in some way to taste like meat. Now I like vegetarian food but anyone that has had veggie products, take Boca for example, think back to the first time you tried it. At first you are confused cause it is clearly not meat in any way shape or form. But at the same time it is like meat. It's a odd sensation. But this "meatloaf" was still delicious. The gravy that is over everything was AMAZING! If you get this, I highly recommend dipping everything into it. I have no clue what it is but it is made of yum.

So, Amy's has done it yet again. I give this two big thumbs way up there. The veggies were fresh, and the mashed potatoes were REAL potatoes, you could tell and they were VERY good. On another note, this contained no dairy so technically it's vegan! So rejoice vegans and veggie heads!

Alright that is all from me for today. Me and the Prince of Persia have a date today. So if youll excuse me. Until next time!

Happy Microwaving!

p.s. the title is a lie. I love meatloaf. A lot.

Fool me Once Shame one on you, Fool me twice Shame on me! Fool me three times....?

An Update on a Sunday?! Yea I know, I'm surprised too. But I had something yesterday that needed to be shared with everyone. While I was at the store for a quick trip, I decided to grab just a few little meals just in case I wanted something different from what I already had. Of course, I am lazy and dont want to eat what I have in the freezer, so I ate one of the new ones yesterday for lunch!

I know right? You think I would have learned already. Kashi has been nothing but a disappointment. But I couldn't resist. This one was cheap, and the ingredients sounded delcious. Chicken, peppers, spinach, MUSHROOMS?! Come on! How could they go wrong with this.

It was kind of strange to cook. It was just a little pouch of bread, no openings at all. Just threw it in the microwave for a few minutes, flipped it, and microwaved some more. It smelled really good. But I still have problems trusting Kashi. This could be a huge success or it could end in tears.

Had to cut in half for this picture. Doesn't that just look...appealing? Yeah. I was nervous too. So I let it cool and took my first bite.

...

............

........................

It wasn't bad. The inside was actually pretty good. Their "home made bread" I could have lived without. It had a weird after taste. But the inside bites were delicious. I knew they couldn't go wrong with what they were working with.

So congratulations Kashi, you have know received a little bit of my faith back. I still hate you for what you did with me with the Mayan Harvest Bake, but this. This was good. Keep making little pouches filled with delicious and I will keep eating them.

No microwaved food for me today! Going to my Aunt's house for dinner tonight and I woke up kind of late so yea! So until next time!

Happy Microwaving!

My Apartment now smells like a Fish Market

Sorry for no post yesterday. I ate no microwaved food! I got paid and The Boyfriend got a job, so to celebrate we got some Chili's which I saved half of and ate again for dinner. And then friends came over and we had chick-fil-a. So alas, no microwaved food yesterday. But today! Ho ho! Do I have a special one for yall.

Now I have been trying to hit all types of food when it comes to what I am eating. And today's meal is no exception to that. We're going to venture into a previously unexplored category in my experience with microwave food.

Seafood! Now ususally I don't eat a lot of seafood. The Boyfriend can't stand it and the only times we really eat it is when we go out for Sushi. And the only fish that I love is the stuff at Lubys. Nom! But I do enjoy shellfish. But microwaveable shrimp? Where are they getting these shrimps? And how are the microwaveable? Hello? Anyone...?

Now let me frank. This thing STANK. I am all for shrimp but good lord. It was just too fishy. TOO MUCH! The Boyfriend kept gagging and saying "STINKY" over and over and it was. You have to stir it in the middle of cooking and I licked my fork and was a little nervous. The sauce was oh so shirmpy

....Where the hell are the shrimps?! I see mushrooms, which made me not as nervous, cause I love mushrooms. But I couldn't see any shirmp. I dug and managed to find them all hiding.

They were so tiny. The tiniest shrimp I have ever seen. I had to take a picture of comparrison so you guys could see how tiny these little guys were.

Now keep in mind this is a standard AA Battery. Everyone knows how big those guys are.

WTFERY?! Look how small they are! And they barely look like shrimps, they look more like tiny brains. Now the taste. Yeah. It tasted like shrimp. Actually everything tasted like shrimp. Pasta, sauce, mushrooms, all of it. I had to smother it in parmasan cheese and some other little herbs to make it somewhat decent.

I would not recommend this to someone who "kind of" like shrimp. You have to LOVE shrimp to like this. I love shirmp. But I don't them this much. For real it was gross. My stomach is already hurting from this, which is never a good sign.

So I give this a big old thumbs down. I'm going to the grocery store tonight or sometime tomorrow so again, if anyone has an recommendations be sure to comment! Until next time!

I need some tums...

I got lost in my Freezer...is that a good excuse? No? Ok.

I'm back! No no, I didn't die everyone. I was just taking a little break from blogging. Works been crazy, and I've been doing about 200x things to distract me from blogging aka friends coming into town, Setting up my original Nintendo for the first time in years and Barbarella. I have, however, been taking pictures of all my meals since my last post. So we have a lot to go through today, lets not waste any more time!

What?! More Amy's?! Hell to the yes more Amy's! For real guys, you HAVE to check these out, they are super delicious.

Amy never disappoints. This was BEYOND delicious (just looking at it is making me SO! HUNGRY!). The Verde sauce. OM! NOM! NOM! Ok we have to move on. I'm starting to drool again.

More Enchladas, you guys know my love for enchiladas. Now with these. They were kind of special looking to start with. But the promise of a Tamale too got me excited.

*tilts head slowly* Yum? It wasn't too bad. The sauce was really good, IDK what it was. The rice was meh. The Tamela, very good. It was OK at best.

MOVING ON!

FISH STICKS! Hell to the yes! I was a little scared of the pudding. Warm pudding? Eh...OK? I'll try it.

Hm. Special. Lets see what it looks like with a flash:

Now the pudding looks like sludge and the mac and cheese looks....different. This was decent. Warm pudding: I would advise against it. Fish sticks, decent, mac and cheese: A for Effort.

NEXT!

Bacon Pasta? Yes please. The Boyfriend had this the other day and got another one and let me have it. Cause he said its too delicious to not try. So I ate it.

I could live without the peas, but the rest was SO GOOD! Bacon just makes everything better, "Madam! What is this?", "Why, good sir, that would be cat poop wrapped in bacon.", "...Bacon you say?"

NEXT

...>_> whoops. That's my cat and my big toe. Ha! Look at the face he's making, He says"GET ON WITH IT! AND MAKE ME MOAR FOOD PLEBEIAN!"

The Boyfriend made this one. He had already ripped the box apart before he could take a picture. But it smelled great while it was cooking.

It threw up all over. It was still pretty good. I had a bite, and it had blue cheese in it, which I HAAAATE with a fiery passion. This was actually good, I could taste the blue cheese but it wasn't overpowering. I liked The Boyfriends response to how it looked, "Hey! Baby! Look! *I look* It kind looks like the box *we look at the box* ....kind of!"

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST:

Yes More steaming food, for your face. I was scared.

WHAT IS THIS?! This is shenanigans! Where is the Marinara?! Michelina promises me pasta floating in Marinara, this...this is pathetic. However the meatballs were delicious. I also downed it in spices which made it 300x better.

*huff puff* Ok! We did it! We covered all my food for the past...however long it's been. Novemeber is here and I get paid tomorrow, so expect awesome blogs! Tomorrow we'll recap my lunch from today and tomorrow. Cause I haven't eaten yet. So! Until next time!

I am so hungry now.

You got Cheese in my Choclate! You got Choclate on my Cheese!!!

Today's has not been a very good day. Didn't sleep well, headaches, my arm hurts for some odd reason. Just one of those days. Even my horoscope said "Hey uhh don't go outside." So when it came to Lunch I was a little scared of what I was going to eat, in fear that it was going to end in disaster. I decided that I should avoid all super delicious foods because I don't want them to end badly, I would be oh-so-sad. The other night we got a few more meals so I decided to just go with something that was pretty simple and straight forward, to avoid any pending doom.

I can even save $6 bucks! I probably should dig that coupon out. Like I said, pretty straight forward. Hard to mess up chicken fingers, mac and cheese and a delicious brownie. What makes me nervous though, is that someone thought it was a great idea to add steam coming off the brownie. Last time I checked, if there is steam coming of a brownie, you probably shouldn't be eating it.

When I was making it, The boyfriend popped up from the couch and asked, "Are you making another Kid Cuisine?" I knew exactly what he was talking about. This is pretty much identical to the Kid Cuisines of my day. Brownies, mac and cheese, and chicken. No nutritional value what so ever! I'm sure there were corn in those back in the day. No corn here! Everything is either bread like or smothered in cheese. Aw yea.

I should probably double check my Horoscope :( The macaroni is overflowing in my brownie, GTFO Cheese! Those Chicken strips also look a little special too. The Smell of the brownie was completely over powered with everything else. The Boyfriend told me, "It smells like Chicken Fried Brownie Cheese." and it did. But I was hopeful. I have to be!!!

The chickens were awesome. With or without ketchup :) The Mac and Cheese tried its hardest to be like Luby's Mac and Cheese, but alas, it fell short. Still good, but I see what they were going for and they missed the mark. Not by much, but still. The brownie was also surprisingly delicious. Tasted like brownie to me, and that's all that really matters.

So, lucky enough for me, my lunch was not a complete disaster. There were no explosions in my mouth, nothing floating in gravey and no plantains. All in all I call it a successful lunch! Good job Banquet, you're ridiculously cheap meal passed my test. Until next time!

Happy Microwaving

Something Exploded In My Mouth

Microwaveable foods have been a part of my life for a very long time. Not saying that my family never cooked, but there are some nights kids can just be plain difficult, so popping something in the microwave as a "treat" can shut a kid up in no time. For me, microwaved foods were "treats" I didn't have them all the time. But I do remember my favorite fondly.

When we I went on the first big spree at the grocery store, I was trying to get the largest assortment I could. One thing stood out to me and I said to myself, "You have to get one Mitchell." so I did.

Like I said, I had to.

So here we have it. Kids Cuisne. I promised a few people one of these would be coming up. I was a little upset because I was trying to find the Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets, but they didn't have any. So I grabbed the most random one I could find. A chicken Sandwich, veggies, tots, and a wtfisthatdessert.

Now when I first bought this and got it home, I had to just open it up. These "strawberry flavored popping crisps" were a curiosity to me. Is it pop corn? Is it Ice Cream? WHAT IS IT?! When I went to investigate it was inside its own packaging in the tray, and was not to be microwaved. Well then...maybe it's ice cream? Who knows.

I also enjoy the fact that it has "REAL MEALS" printed on the bottom. As opposed to what Kid's Cuisine? Play Doh? I would hope its real food.

I can also win a free "OUT OF THIS WORLD" movie screening. Kids food always has those awesome contests going on. Did anyone ever win those? I never heard anything about them. The commercials were always awesome on TV. I would always bug my parents to get me whatever food had the most AWESOME contest going on.

I actually want to see that movie >_>

Anyway, getting off topic. So I finally decided to cook it. Dude. The veggies has exploded all over the place. There were some in every tray. Corn on my potatoes, some carrots on my sammich, pease on my popping crisps. WTF Whoever did the veggie packaging on this one fails.

So Into the microwave, BUT NOT THE BUN! That goes in for only 30 seconds at the end. And mysterydesert. And out comes:

Man Kid's Meals are tiny. The funny thing is, this one has a lot of calories. Weird.

The Veggies were standard. Tasted like Microwaved Veggies. The Sammich was awesome actually. The bun is a whole wheat bun, and you can tell and its yum. Its also really goody with a little ketchup (It solves all problems). The Tater Puffs (yeah, thats the real name) kind of morphed together into one entity. Also much better with Ketchup. (see?)

Now lets move onto the WtfDessert.

I threw one into my mouth and started to chew. And it was pretty much like a Strawberry Yogart candy. It was really good. And then.

My mouth start to explode.

I freaked out. WTF IS HAPPENING IN MY MOUTH!?

Apparently, the "popping" part, is that these candies have POP ROCKS in them. Ahh! Now it all makes sense. Clever idea Kid's Cuisine, way to make desert even more awesome.

So I snarffed down the rest of it and was full. Yes, actually full from a kid's meal. It was surprisingly good for something that is meant for children. Not saying that children have bad taste....alright that's all for today! Until Tomorrow!

I still want to see that movie <_<
